HENTY SWIMMING POOL

Public BBQ

Stumbled upon this absolute gem during a sweltering summer evening, and what a find it turned out to be. The facility strikes that perfect balance between practical and pleasant - a properly deep swimming pool for serious swimmers alongside a thoughtfully designed kids' splash area that had the little ones squealing with delight. The grassed surrounds provide ample space for families to spread out, and frankly, it's refreshing to find toilets and changerooms that don't make you question your life choices. The lifeguard was genuinely friendly rather than the usual whistle-wielding tyrant, and the extended opening hours meant we could enjoy a proper barbecue as the sun set, followed by a cooling dip. It's the sort of unpretentious community facility that makes you wonder why more places can't get the basics this right.
